When we are in a state of “flow” we are at one with ourselves and our environment, whatever that may be, and whatever task or situation we find ourselves in. My aim is to help you return to feeling that you are in the flow, comfortable with who you are and to be at one with all...

"Thinking, feeling and behaving are integrally connected -
When you think, you also feel and act.
When you feel, you also think and act.
When you act, you also think and feel,
                                                     - Three in one!"    (Ellis, 2004:210)

Areas of Expertise
Stress & Anxiety
  • Do you feel at times that life is overwhelming, or you never seem to have enough time?

  • Maybe you worry about the future, allowing your imagination to come up with many awful scenarios that leave you feeling anxious and worried/

  • Or perhaps you tend to dwell over past events, reliving the bad memories over and over again?

We tend to use the word stress to describe any event that causes an upset to our status quo, but what do we actually mean when we use these words?...

Irritable Bowel Syndrome
  • Do you suffer from IBS?

  • Have you tried the FODMAP diet with some or little success?

  • Do you find yourself avoiding places that you are unfamiliar with because you are worried that you don't know where the toilets are situated?

  • Perhaps you are continually saying 'no' to friends when they ask you out for a meal or a coffee because you know that your gut will suffer the consequences?

  • Do you suffer the pain of bloating or the sometimes embarrassment of flatulence?

Did you know that, while certain foods will trigger an IBS reaction, one of the root causes of the problem is an overly sensitive digestive tract that has been made so by stress and anxiety?

Fears & Phobias
  • Do you feel sick at the sight of blood, or are positively terrified at the idea of having an injection?

  • You want to go for a run in the park but what if you meet a dog?

  • You would love to go to that highly rated restaurant for a romantic meal but aren't able to cope with the elevator that is the only way to get to it...or maybe it's the view from the top - you would be frozen on the spot unable to move?

What is the difference between a fear and a phobia - aren't they the same thing - and what created it in the first place?...

Social Anxiety
  • Does the very idea of having to walk into a pub, restaurant, or room full of people fill you with dread?

  • Do you spend an inordinate amount of time procrastinating over what to wear for fear of what others might think or say?

  • Or are you afraid to speak up in group discussions in case you are judged an idiot and are worried about what the others think of you?

  • Do you feel self-conscious walking down the street thinking that everyone is looking at you and making a judgement?

Weight Management
  • Do you feel uncomfortable in your own skin?

  • Do you battle with achieving and maintaining your ideal weight?

  • Do you always seem to head for the forbidden food list when you are feeling most stressed or fatigued?

  • Do your cravings make you feel guilty and ashamed but you can't seem to help yourself?

  • Do you wish you had better self-control or discipline when it comes to what you eat?

  • Maybe you are not even really aware of why you binge on the unhealthy snacks, or get little enjoyment out of it anyway. So why do I do it, you might ask yourself?

Personal Development
  • Do you want to excel at work and get that promotion, but you freeze and forget all the great things you wanted to say when it is your turn to give the presentation?

  • Or maybe you are someone that cannot deal with the pressure of being exposed to any sort of scrutiny, assessment, or testing - you know your stuff but can't get through the exams or interview?

  • Do you love your sport or hobby but can't fully enjoy it because there is an element of fear that holds you back, or you let yourself down when it matters most?

Fear of Flying
  • Are you putting off a much needed holiday because you cannot bring yourself to set foot in an aircraft?

  • Do you feel anxious when the aircraft starts to bump around in rough air?

  • Does your imagination go into overdrive when you hear the aircraft make unfamiliar noises and convince yourself that the worst is about to happen?

  • Do you feel helpless and not in control when the aircraft is starting it's approach to land, made worse by not knowing what the pilots are doing?

Horse Riding Confidence
  • Would you just love to jump your horse but the idea of his hooves leaving the ground fills you with fear?

  • Or maybe you long to join your friends out on a hack but are put off because the last time you went out you lost control of your horse?

  • Have you lost confidence because of a bad experience and now your horse plays up because it can sense your trepidation?

  • Or maybe you can work in harmony with your horse at home but you find it hard to control your nerves when you get to a competition?

Pilot Skills Development
  • Does the idea of flying your first solo excite you, and you think you are ready, but keep putting it off for fear of something going wrong?

  • Or maybe you are a commercial pilot who is confident flying the line on a daily basis but doesn't do yourself justice on a line check?

  • Does the sim fill you with dread where even normal procedures leave your mind blank?

  • Is this holding you back from a command upgrade or a training position?

  • Or would you like to have the confidence in overcoming the 'startle effect'?

My Approach

It is my belief that everyone has the ability, with the right help, guidance, and support, to change what you can in your life, and to learn skills to cope with that which you can’t change. Simply being shown how you think, how you react in a given situation, and what feelings and emotions are evoked by real or imaginary events, can open up a whole new self-awareness. With this new awareness forms the basis for fundamental changes to your core beliefs and helps you to view yourself and others around you in a more positive light.

Embracing Life's Challenges...

…“One day a young child found a butterfly chrysalis. Intrigued, the child took it home to see what would happen. One day a small opening appeared. The child sat and watched the butterfly for several hours as it struggled to force its body through the little hole. Then it seemed to stop making any progress. It appeared stuck. The child decided to help the butterfly, and so, with a pair of scissors she carefully cut open the chrysalis. The butterfly then emerged easily. However, something wasn’t right. The butterfly had a swollen body and shrivelled wings. The child watched the butterfly expecting it to take on its correct proportions but nothing changed. The butterfly stayed the same. It was never able to fly. In their lack of knowledge and innocence, and what the child thought was an act of kindness did in fact prevent the butterfly from completing its transformation.

Upset, the child explained what had happened to their mother. So her mother explained that the butterfly’s struggle to get through the small opening of the chrysalis is nature’s way of forcing fluid from the body of the butterfly into its wings so that it would be ready for flight.

….life may seem like a challenge at times, but these challenges are part of life’s experience and make you who you are… You have the ability, just like the butterfly, to rise to the challenge every time and overcome it because you already have everything within you that you need to become the person you wish to be, and to transform your life into the very best version of you…I am here to give you knowledgeable support and guidance to help you to realise that you already possess all the abilities and strengths to live the life you were designed to live...

'If you do the opposite of what you have been doing all your life, you will probably feel the opposite of the way you do now.'
